We Trade Damaged Cars

At Cash For Cars Richmond, we believe that we can make a positive impact on the environment around us, but we need your help! We will even pay you for it. After learning that vehicles that are put in landfills can cause serious problems when they leak heavy metals into local water sources, we decided to institute a program designed to get junk cars to recycling centers and keep them out of landfills. The program has been an absolute success and continues to keep Richmond a beautiful place to live. Here’s how it works: we pay local residents for their junk cars and then make sure they end up at a recycling center. At the recycling center they are drained of all potentially hazardous fluids. The junk cars are then stripped and their metals, plastics, rubber, and other materials which can be repurposed. Besides solving the problem of heavy metal pollution, this also keeps the prices of many different materials lower by putting them back into the market. If you have a junk car, you could make some cash and be confident that it is being put to good use.

You might be wondering what is a junk car? The answer varies depending on who you ask, but here are some basic guidelines:

  • Junk cars are old. A vehicle’s age can be determined in a couple of different ways. First, most junk cars are over fifteen years old. This number can vary greatly though, depending on how many miles it has been driven. Vehicles that are rarely driven can be used for many decades while vehicles that are driven very often will usually show their age much sooner.
  • Junk cars are broken down. As vehicles age, they begin to break down more and more frequently. Once they break down often enough that they are no longer worth maintaining, they are considered junk cars. They could also be considered junk cars if they have been in a wreck and are no longer safe to drive. They could even be relatively new, but have experienced such severe engine problems that they are not worth repairing.
  • Junk cars are usually in very poor condition. Most junk cars have problems outside of the engine too. Many of them have serious cosmetic problems such as chipped or scratched paint, broken windows, leaking issues, and torn upholstery.
